My husband, Jim, and I are just one generation removed from families with their roots in rural areas, on farms that at times provided our Grandparents, and generations before them, with their living and their sustenance.  Although our parents worked hard to escape from the demands of farming life, we grew up going back with them to these places for holidays, vacations, parties and reunions.

Relationships were forged with grandparents, cousins, aunts & uncles during these visits.  Family stories of both hardships and joys were shared around campfires and kitchen tables.  We came away from these events with a grounded feeling of connection to these people and these places.
