Runaway Ridge is 52 acres on a peninsula of high ground 2800 feet above sea level with a spectacular 360 degree, 50+ mile view.
Nearby ridges are dotted with open pastures that peak out from densely wooded hillsides. Our property line is the state line shared by Virginia and West Virginia. We are bordered by the George Washington National Forest. People who visit us for the first time inevitably ask how we found this incredible piece of land. I will give you more of that story in future posts. For now, just enjoy this spectacular drone shot of our little slice of Almost Heaven!
Far vistas are filled with ridgelines rolling away to the west and the south and include the mountain range that boasts the highest elevation point in the state of West Virginia, Spruce Knob (the last range on the left in this photo).
