Well, his Mom has said that wasn’t the only thing Jim took apart and tried to put back together in their house! This family story just proves that Jim’s curiosity has been a part of his personality his whole life. He loves to find out how things are made, how they go together and how they work. This quest for understanding and information is still alive and well in him. Our house up on The Ridge, and our full time home in Northern Virginia, are both filled with his innovations, detailing, and systems that make our lives easier, more energy conscious, comfortable and beautiful.
Jim invests his time and energy in seeking out information on a wide variety of topics. He values and practices both analytic and synthetic thinking. Jim admires people who can learn a concept and then apply their acquired understanding to other situations. He always endeavors to model this behavior himself. Jim is an excellent teacher but is one who has high expectations of his students.
It’s not often that there’s a subject that Jim hasn’t at least heard about. If someone has introduced him to something he isn’t aware of, it won’t take long for him to investigate, research and return to that person for a more informed discussion of the topic.
I’m a big fan of this guy. Can you tell? I couldn’t ask for a better friend, partner, husband, or father of my children. I’m so thankful for all of our shared experiences in the past 45+ years and I’m looking forward to SO many more!
